Description Sunrize Arrowroot - Arrowroot is derived from the roots of a tropical South American plant Maranta.
The Sunrize Fact-ory Arrowroot was used by native South Americans as an antidote against the effects of poisoned arrows.
Usage clear glazes for fruit pies, tarts or Chinese clear gravies. Because of its superior thickening ability (use half as much as flour) and clear finish, arrowroot is excellent for thickening the sauces for stir-fried seafood and poultry, juices and soups.

Arrowroot is used mainly as a thickening or gelling agent. It can be used as a substitute for cornstarch or wheat flour in recipes (for thickening): 2 parts arrowroot=1 part cornstarch1 part arrowroot=1 part wheatflour
