Description Sunrize Basil - known as 'sweet basil', it is one of the well known Mediterranean herbs. Fresh, sweet, subtle flavour.
The Sunrize Fact-ory The ancient Greeks called basil "The Herb of Kings." (The name for sweet basil comes from the Greek okimon, basil, and basilikos, royal.) It was believed that only the king himself should harvest this herb, and only using a golden sickle.
Usage Use in tomato and pasta dishes, pesto, vegetables and soups.
Storage Requirements Store in a cool dry place and once opened keep in an airtight container for no more than 6 months.
On the Label An extremely flavoursome herb, basil is fresh and sweet and used extensively in Mediterranean cooking. Try adding over a tomato sauce based pasta dish, or just sprinkle over sliced tomatoes and add crushed garlic and olive oil.
