Description Sunrize Cinnamon Sticks (Cassia Bark) - Cassia is a close relative to the Cinnamon. As with these species, the dried bark of cassia is used as a spice. Cassia's flavour, however, is less delicate than that of true cinnamon.
The Sunrize Fact-ory Egyptian recipes for kyphi, an aromatic used for burning, included cinnamon and cassia from Hellenistic times onwards. The gifts of Hellenistic rulers to temples sometimes included cassia and cinnamon as well as incense, myrrh, and Indian incense
Usage Stewed fruits, puddings, pastry, curries, pilaus and spicy foods.
Storage Requirements Store in a cool dry place and once opened keep in an airtight container for no more than 6 months.
On the Label These Cinnamon sticks are taken from the outer bark of the tree and are also known as Cassia bark. They have a stronger, less sweet flavour than Cinnamon quills and are great in Indian food. Try adding a piece whilst cooking Basmati rice.
