Sunrize Fennel Seeds - a member of the parsley family with a sweet anise-like flavour.

In ancient Greece fennel was considered a symbol of success and was given the name Marathon because the Battle of Marathon against the Persians took place in a field of fennel. Fennel was then used to symbolize victory, longevity, strength and courage.
Usage
Good for Mediterranean cookery and with fish, vegetables, pork, sausages, rice dishes and potatoes. Fennel is used in curry blends, Chinese five spice, mirepoix, and herbes de Provence. Good in savoury and sweet dishes, sauces, chutneys and stews.
Storage Requirements
Store in a cool dry place and once opened keep in an airtight container for no more than 6 months.
On the Label
Fennel seeds have a wonderful sweet almost aniseed taste and are used extensively in Italian, Asian and Oriental cooking.
Try grinding them in a pestle and mortar with some chilli, lemon juice, garlic and olive oil and use as a rub for pork on the BBQ.
