Mango fruit is revered In India. Mogul Emperor Akbar (1556-1605), ordered a plantation of 100,000 mango trees to be planted.
Usage
Soups, dalls, vegetable dishes, chutneys, breads and pastries. Often used like lemon juice in Western cooking as it gives food a sour tangy taste but without adding any moisture. 1tsp mango powder is equivalent to 3 tbsp lemon juice.
Storage Requirements
Store in a cool dark place and once opened keep in an airtight container for no more than 6 months.

Dried ground mango from India, the world’s largest producer of mangoes. Dried mango has a unique sharp almost tangy flavour which is added to curries to give them a sour flavour.
