Description Sunrize Mung Beans - These beans are sweet and soft and are popular in Chinese cookery. Once sprouted these are commonly known as bean sprouts and used in Stir fries. The beans are dark green in colour and yellow inside. They are an excellent source of Vitamins A, D, and E (once sprouted also an excellent source of Vitamin C that is not present until sprouted) calcium, iron, magnesium, potassium, amino acids, folic acid and fibre.

Usage Great for soups, stews, salads and good fro sprouting and eating raw, in sandwiches or stir fries To cook: Rinse thoroughly and Soak overnight in clean cold water. Drain the next morning and replce water to cover beans by 5cm. Fast boil for 10 mins. Reduce the heat and simmer for about 1 hour or until tender. Drain and save cooking water as this contains Vitamins and can be used in recipes requiring liquid.

Storage Requirements Store in a cool dry place and once opened keep in an airtight container.
On the Label Mung Beans originally come from the far east and Asia where they have been used for centuries. They are also known as ‘Moong’ and when split and de-husked they are used to make moong dall. They are fantastic sprouted as they produce a large bean sprout which is great in a stir fry or salad.
