Description
Sunrize Whole Nutmeg - warm, nutty, sweet flavour - Nutmeg is grown in Sri Lanka, India, South East Asia, Malaysia, Jamaica, and the Caribbean Islands but originates in the Molucca Islands (Spice Islands).
The Sunrize Fact-ory
In the 16th century, nutmeg was believed to ward off the plague. It became so popular for this reason that it was one of the most costly spices in England.
Usage
Use grated in sausages, meats, soups, egg dishes, vegetables, preserves, puddings, fruit pies, custards, advocaat and mulled wine.
One whole nutmeg grated equals 2-3 teaspoons of ground nutmeg.
Storage Requirements
Store in a cool dry place and once opened keep in an airtight container for no more than 6 months.
